One of the real insights from my research to this point is the importance of cooperation to innovation.
This book helps the reader understand how to encourage their own organisational Hot Spots by focussing on cooperation, networks and the role of purpose. These topics, particularly boundary spanning networks, are central to my views about creativity in corporations and I have used them right up to my present thoughts about hybrid work.
This book was the result of a research programme about cooperation, leveraging the companies in my research consortium ‘The Leading Edge’ and with support from the Singapore government.
This remains one of my most influential books. It has been translated into many languages – and I even had a box of chocolates created to accompany it!
