The Shift – The Future of Work is already here
Lynda Gratton
By 2010 it was clear to me that we were facing a revolution in work. I could see a substantial schism between the past and the present in the way we work.
This was not just about the impact that a low carbon economy will have on the way we work. It is also about how the nexus of technology and globalisation will work together with demographic and societal changes to transform much of what we take for granted about work.
Much of the insights in this book came from the Future of Work Research Consortium, which brings companies from around the world together to imagine the future.
The book has been translated into multiple languages, won prizes and became a bestseller in Japan. I use it as a set text for my elective at London Business School, ‘The Future of Work’.
